"From age 15 (circa 1966) when I helped a friend make a 'monster movie' with his 8mm movie camera, was filmmaking burned into my subconscious.

My friend's knowledge and talent combined with that experience would play a huge part in my future."
That was right before George started high school. He then acquired a super 8 film camera -the new technology- by working lots of part time jobs... and the rest, they say, is history.
Now after almost fifty years of experience, most of which has been in film and television production both in and outside of Hollywood, high or low budget, and no budget films, George is bringing that experience to Sacramento. He has made over 45 films both shorts and features, narrative and documentaries. (over 2 dozen shorts in 5 years)
"I am presently producing more short films called 'sermon illustrations' or 'life application lessons' for the Sacramento film community through ELATION PICTURES, our newly formed motion picture production company."
George is a traditionalist in the sense he believes in the HOLLYWOOD PROCESS.
"I've been on the sets of some great films and television shows. They were my indoctrination and basic training into the 'process' Hollywood invented a hundred years ago".
The Two Gamers is Elation Pictures flagship project. It was released in June of 2015 on pay sites and will be released on YouTube/Facebook this year (2016). The Two Gamers was the perfect platform to launch George's new Elation Pictures. "Our goal is to support Sacramento's filming community by utilizing and sharing the 'Hollywood process' that can produce excellent quality films without the 'big bucks'. Combine this with the incredible locations and abundant talent up here and we can change the face of filmmaking in Sacramento and Northern California." The Two Gamers was over a year in production because of personnel changes and down time. "It was the most challenging and rewarding experience of any film I have produced and directed. With donated time and money, lots of people working together for the first time... the film turned out great and proves 'the process' minus the Hollywood resources works!"

A little family history

Picture

I grew up loving photography
and the movies.

My family's history on my Mothers side was involved in the "old Hollywood." My Grandmother was in the "Ziegfield Follies." She was in silent and talking pictures with "Laurel and Hardy and Buster Keaton". She and my Mother knew Clark Gable, Carol Lombard, Johnny Weissmuller, Danny Kaye, Ricardo Montalban, and many others. In fact, my mother taught Johnny Weissmuller and Danny Kaye how to ice skate. She even told me of riding on the back of Gables motorcycle! I grew up hearing all the stories and fell in love with the romanticism of that filmmaking era. But it wasn't until I was around 15 years old when a friend introduced me to filmmaking with his 8mm camera and we made a monster movie that he edited after he got the film back from Kodak. I was hooked.
To make a long story short; when Super 8 came in... I was in. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, I attended "Brooks Institute of Photography" and majored in Cinematography. I have spent most of my adult life in and out of film making from Hollywood and independent productions to finally my own production company, thanks to the digital revolution. [Note: the picture at top was during my stint as cinematographer on a feature length western. I was the ripe old age of 33.]
